Multi-instrumentalist Oto Laleye has introduced a fresh sound into the gospel music industry titled ”Ola”. Oto Laleye who is referred to in some quarters as the Father of Gospel Music in Ireland, said ”this track Ola was created as a ladder to get our worship to that very realm of the spirit and trust to our Almighty God. My aim was to create an atmosphere of nostalgia and emotion as the ear heard it.

As we know what makes Yoruba songs so special are the melodies our Fathers and their fathers before them used that consistently continue to grasp our ears at every listen.
Ola is a well known song within the Yoruba community, a song that is powerful in message, emotional and soothing in melody. With this it was only fair that my arrangement only gave support to the splendour that was already existent”.

Otolorin Ola Laleye is a well known professional trumpeter, music director, composer and producer. He is also a multi-instrumentalist. He started playing music at a very young age in the church. In 1986 he began his professional career in music by joining Femi Anikulapo Kuti and The Positive Force. This lasted for ten years. In no time with the Positive Force, Oto was made the band leader instantly because of the potential, talent and interest in music. In those years he was privileged to travel around the world and featured  in so many festivals such as Moars festival, Montreal Jass Festival, and Womad Festival and he has also played on the same stage with many well known artists such as, Peter Tosh, Baba Maal,mariam Makeba, Michael Jackson and many more.

In 1996 he left Femi Anikulapo Kuti’s band (The Positive Force) and reunited with his Family in Germany. After his relocation to Ireland, he made up his mind that all his life he will sing unto the LORD and that inspired him on his first debut album that was released in 2002 titled; WHERE UNA GO DEY? Ever since he has been involved in many ministrations, recordings and concerts.

He is presently working on few gospel recordings as the producer. Presently as the Music Director of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, Ireland and The CEO of Joyful Sound Productionz, his aim is to promote Gospel Music in Ireland and all over the world with the help of GOD.
